Job brief
We are looking for a grant writer to provide our nonprofit grant writing and research support. As a Grant Writer you will provide research and identification of new funders/ prospecting; and writing, editing, and/ or reviewing of assigned grant applications. For this role, the person must have experience writing successful Foundation, Corporate, and/or government grant applications in the fields of health, community health, and/or human services and strong technical writing background. Additionally, a strong Internet connection is required, along with experience using communication and project management tools. Ultimately, you should be able to work with clients independently and deliver high-quality work under minimum supervision.
Grant Writer responsibilities include:
Respond to communications in a timely manner.
Attend virtual status update meetings, pre-application, and planning meetings
Actively communicate with the proposal development team members to gain additional information, clarification, and answers to questions as the Grant Writer freelance develops the assigned grant application.
Assist with the gathering and assembly of all application information, such as attachments, that are needed to prepare the grant proposal assigned.
Research, write, and edit draft grant proposals for substance and style to ensure the deliverable accurately reflects the client’s objectives and priorities and meets the funder’s requirements.
Complete all work in accordance with proposal development assignments and deadlines set during planning meetings ensuring material developed or used is properly cited, relevant, accurate, and fully responsive to the funder’s requirements.
Deliver the draft and final grant submissions by the interim and final deadlines
Ensure the drafts and final documents produced are free of factual, style, or formatting errors.
